This kahoa (necklace) is made from a ngatu that belonged to 'Alisi from Kolomotu'a. She gifted it to her granddaughter, who gave it to us because it was too damaged to continue to be gifted as koloa, malo 'aupito lahi .
Like our earrings, our kahoa are made by hand. They are unique and intended to showcase the skill of Pacific artisans. The resin piece on this necklace contain ngatu, painted Tongan barkcloth, and measures 4cm in height.
Any imperfections in the resin piece are part of the natural handmade process and add to the uniqueness.
The cable chain is stainless steel, gold plated and measures either 18 or 22 inches in length. It has a lobster clasp.
